2023 Update – August – October

The Last few months have been really busy at Melvyn Evans Motorsport.

August

Melvyn competed on the 2023 Tour Of Epynt and finished 2nd historic car and 6th overall, a superb first outing for the brand new car.

The historic specification MkII Ford Escort has recently been built and is a welcome addition to the MEM portfolio of cars.

MEM then headed to the Ulster Rally which formed a round of the British Rally Championship and also the Irish Tarmac Championship. 3 VW Polo R5 cars were run for Meirion Evans / Jonathan Jackson, Garry Pearson / Dan Barritt and Darren Gass / Barry McNulty. A tough event with Gary Pearson having the best result finishing 8th overall and 2nd BRC crew home.

September

Melvyn competed again in one of the MEM VW Polo R5’s on the all tarmac closed road rally of the Three Shires Stages, coming away with a 4th place overall.

Rali Ceredigion was a huge event for MEM, the rally forming a round of multiple rally championships, the BRC and Protyre MUK Asphalt Rally Championships being two of the biggest. Cars run for Meirion Evans, Gary Peason and Kevin Davies would keep the team busy over the two day event. The team were well rewarded with Osian Pryce taking the top spot, Meirion taking the runners up spot on the podium and Gary finishing 5th and Kevin 7th overall.

October

Next event was the Cambrian Rally with MEM running two crews, Gary Pearson looking to capitalise on his recent excellent results and Tom Cave made a return to rallying in an MEM VW Polo R5. The rally was an excellent event for MEM with Tom winning the event outright and Gary in the runners up spot.
