Forest Villages History

The idea of forming a new lodge was originally discussed by three local Masons namely John Haysom (#319 member) Jack Dingley (#319 member) and Robert Adlington (#5613 Essex member)

The original idea was for the lodge to support #319 and #132 (Lodge of Unity) in progressing members towards the chair as both above lodges had long waiting times for their own members.

New Forest Lodge #319 agreed to be the sponsoring lodge and the application to Province and UGLE was made.

Forest Villages Lodge was consecrated on the 11th of March 1991 with the consecration ceremony being conducted by the Hants & IOW PGM W Bro James E Bullen and Dep PGM W Bro Alan Chun.

Over the following years, the Lodge held many initiations and received an Official visit by the APGM W Bro G Davies in 1999.

In 2005 of the number of lodge meetings was reduced to 5 and a ballot also took place to move the lodge to Brockenhurst Masonic Centre from January 2007

The final meeting at Lymington hall took place on the 18th of December 2006 and all of the lodge furniture was moved over that Christmas period, so that the first regular meeting at Brockenhurst took place on the 26 February 2007.

Forest Villages Lodge #9405 is a friendly group of men who meet on 4th Monday in February, April, September and October as well as 3rd Monday in December.

The lodge Ritual is ‘Working Taylors’ so creates plenty of interest for visitors and new joining members.
