February 24th – Competition 1 – Subject: Macro / Close Up

These can be images of the natural or man-made worlds provided they are taken at a very short distance from the subject. You can also highlight, disguise or abstract elements of the subject.

April 27th – Competition 2 – Subject: Street Life

These must be candid shots of people in public places taking part in activities from everyday life. They should comprise chance encounters and random incidents and not be based on posed portraits or stage-managed scenes

June 28th – Competition 3 – Subject: Transport

These images can either be of modes of transport (e.g. cars, trains, planes etc.) or the act of transporting people or goods etc. from place to place.

September 28th – Competition 4 – Subject: Coast

These should be images of the coastline or seashore. They should not comprise only seascapes or landscapes but depict that area of the coast where the two merge – this can include the seashore at low tide.

October 26th – Competition 5 – Subject: Geoff Brady Printed Portrait

Images to be handed in on the night, they must be mounted and not framed.

As well as formal head and shoulder poses we also welcome other more creative interpretations of the theme. These include full length portraits, environmental portraits, double portraits and those which reveal something about the sitter’s emotion or personality. Although pets may feature they should not be the main subject.

December 14th – Competition 6 – Subject: Photograph of the Year

Image to be handed in on the night of the Christmas Social, informal display of printed images (mounted and not framed).

Single print of your best specific image (subject TBC).
